Patients who are currently unemployed and uninsured may qualify for assistance through MAINTAIN (Medicines Assistance for Those who Are In Need). MAINTAIN provides free Pfizer medicines to eligible patients for up to one year, or until they become insured again, whichever comes first.

How to qualify

Patients and their immediate family members can receive free Pfizer medicines through MAINTAIN if they:

Became unemployed on or after January 1, 2009
Were prescribed and taking a Pfizer medicine available through MAINTAIN for at least 3 months prior to becoming unemployed and enrolling in the program
Have no prescription coverage
Can attest that they are experiencing a financial hardship
Live in the United States

Application process

Applying is easy. Just follow these 2 steps:

Download an application here.
Fill out and mail the completed application, along with proof of unemployment, to MAINTAIN.

Proof of Unemployment (submit one):

State unemployment benefits confirmation letter
Unemployment benefit check stub
Employer termination letter

Applications will be accepted through December 31, 2012.

Application approval

Applications will be processed in 2 to 3 weeks. If patients are accepted into the program, their first medicine shipment will be sent out shortly after they are notified.

Medicine delivery

Medicine will be shipped in 90-day supplies to a patient’s home. Patients can call 1-866-578-4995 to order refills throughout their enrollment.

Your total gross annual household income must be at or below 2 times the federal poverty level (see the chart below).

Total number of persons in the household includes yourself and each of your dependents
Total gross income includes incomes from all earners in your household before taxes and deductions
